IT Managment specialist Floyd Piedad saw short clips of Bill balancing on TV, and tried it out near his location in Quezon City, Philippines. He posted the results on the Flickr photo sharing site. He's our first balancer from the Asia-Pacific region, but, as he writes, "I enjoy balancing rocks," and likely it'll spread (a friend is shown helping in one of his images).

Dave Gorman (yes, that Dave Gorman) came upon Bill Dan balancing in Sausalito, and had the not-uncommon urge to try it himself. Although he writes in an email "I have no idea if I will be doing more... but I wouldn't bet against it," from the look of his first attempt and his comments on his site, we'll see more of his work shortly (prediction proved true within 3 days!). And now he offers "Pocket Rock Balancing", sure to catch on -- and even make him some money. Recently, he has been the inspiration for Peanut Balancing!? Can elephant balancing be far behind?

A personal student of Bill's, Rabindranath ("Rabin") Sarkar started balancing rocks in 2000. Bill remembers him as "Good student; good people." A practicing homeopathic physician, he has sent this site a number of links for other balancers. A few more of his early balances (photos by Bill) are Guest hosted here.

Scott Wachenheim was introduced to rock balancing when his friend Daliel rearranged (balanced) the rock markers at the foot of Scott's driveway. With a little experimenting Scott soon succeeded balancing rocks along trails and streams on visits to New Mexico. At home near the central California coast, he delights in the balancing of rocks against the backdrop of the powerful Pacific. But no place has provided the power and inspiration of the Copper River in Alaska as shown in his Guest Directory. He has also contributed a Reflection.
