Bill has begun posting images of his balanced rock sculptures on the Flickr photo-sharing web space. He is posting not only amazing examples and experiments from his earlier work, but also the newest pictures as he takes them.

Flickr Toys makes it possible to create - and place in a web page like this - a "widget" which displays samples of photos from a member's collection along with the current tally of total images posted, number of Flickr contacts, and number of photo sets the member has made. These images and totals are updated every hour, and the widgets are clickable links to the selection shown.

On the upper part of this page, the left-hand and top widgets show photos from Bill's most recent uploads, while the lower and right-hand widgets are selected from his images by a Flickr system which looks for something they call "interestingness". In either case, clicking on them will take you to Bill's bebalance Flickr pages. ENJOY!

Other balancers, stackers, pilers, heapers, and otherwise artistic rock-assemblers have come to Flickr before Bill. Many of them - including this site's webmaster - declare their inspiration from Bill, while others apparently have found the art, craft, and discipline on their own or from other influences. In any case, their work deserves a wider audience, and we are pleased to be able to include here widgets from the two largest: Flickr Groups devoted to the subject, Rockbalance and Pebble Balancing. As above, clicking on either widget will take you to the collection of images referenced in the display.
