Despite the ample availability of rock and stone in the arid environment and the millenia-long skill of constructing with them (some of the New Mexico pueblos were the largest dwelling structures in the world when the Europeans arrived), there appears to be no evidence whatever of any tradition of rock stacking or balancing in this region. The naturally formed "balancing rocks", "mushroom rocks", and "tent rocks" with which this state abounds may inspire visitors, but the natives have left no trace of emulating those phenomena at any time.
